We are making changes to what you get when you select a 3D bookcover from FFD.
We have decided that it is a good idea to pair a 2D cover along with a 3D boxed set so you have something to post on Smashwords. For those who don’t know, 3D covers don’t seem to be compatible with the Smashwords site, and I like Smashwords, so it’s just makes sense to have something you can put up there to show off your multi-packaged books
Cheryl Douglas has generously allowed me to use her covers – because we’ve done two design styles.
Here we have a five book boxed set (I have other styles featured below as well if you need other book postures)
and directly below is a 2D book cover – formatted to Smashwords size and resolution
or, there is this format done up from Cheryl’s Nashville Nights series
And here are a few other 3D book cover examples.
This one can have any background you want. I went with a beach because the hot dude is standing in front of a stormy ocean :) If your book is a Galactic drama, you might be looking for a stellar constellation.
Here is a single 3D book facing spine out
This is a view of a back and front cover from a premade design, and if you aren’t shy, you could put a picture of you holding this book
And lastly, here is another 3D boxed set with the image that covers across all spines. These sets can be reversed it you need them to go in the other direction.
Yu might have noticed, but I thought I’d post a message here, that I’m revamping the layout of my site. The categories are going to be per genre (as best and clearly as I can make them).
So, mid-grade at the top, then high-grade, then sale items at the bottom per genre.
Each genre might have sub genres. Hopefully this doesn’t confuse things. I’m also redoing a few covers that were lost in my external hard drive crash, so if there was one you wanted that is suddenly gone, it might be back, it might have sold, just ask, and I’ll look into it.
This year has been a bit tumultuous for ffd, mostly due to the struggle of $ vs time.
After some thought, we have come up with, what we hope to be an easy transition to raising our prices. Before any one panics… this isn’t across the board…. we have decided some covers will go in to a higher category rather than simply raising all book cover design prices. For this we will add another page for higher priced designs, much like we have a sale page for lower priced covers.
What it does mean is that some cover designs will cost $70-80, while others will remain in the $40.00-$50.00.
The break down
Premade Sale covers are $25.00
Premade Mid-grade covers are $40.00
Premade high-grade covers are $70.00
custom mid-grade covers are $50.00
custom high-grade covers are $80.00
changing any of these covers into print covers is an additional $30.00
modifications to covers is still $10.00
requesting expensive images is the cost of the cover plus the cost of the image requested.
After all that, I currently don’t have a high-grade cover created yet, nor do I have it stocked, lol. That will come soon.
As some of you may have heard, Fantasia Frog Designs is undergoing some changes. Instead of raising our prices, I have taken on a job outside the home, which for now is part time, but by mid-winter will be full time. The reason I need to do this is mainly financial, finding taxes too difficult to manage at year end, as well as the fact that I cannot work any faster and I’m at full capacity.
This means I will be reducing some of my clients. I will be notifying those clients as they contact me. Basically, I will be continuing on with those clients who are full time with FFD, as well as premade book covers. If you have any questions as to whether or not that applies to you, feel free to email me. I have an automatic response set up, but I do read those eventually and will reply. You are welcome to suggest themes/ideas for premade book covers in our comments and we will try to accommodate.
Fantasia frog designs will be out of internet range starting June 27th-July 2nd, and then back for a little less than a week and gone again from July 9th until July 14th. I will be away camping – I won’t bring my laptop. A bear might eat it.
I’m also possibly going to working on a construction project this summer, building a garage for my mother in law, but I will be available in the evenings.
Due to a few bad experiences, I’ve come to think it’s best to introduce a new policy for premade and first time clients in regards to payment. I’m sad to say I’ve had a few issues with the coverart equivalent to pump and dash, or, in our case, covers are sent and client disappears with said covers. Basically, this only applies to first time custom order and premade purchases. We now ask that payment is made before final covers are sent. If you’ve purchased a cover through us before (and you weren’t a pump and dash client, lol), then we can continue on as usual.
That said; I keep an open mind, and I know things (Bills/illness/death in family) come up – so, if there is ever any conflict in regards to payment, please, just contact me, and we will happily negotiate payment.
This goes in to effect as of today (April 30th, 2014)
